My parked car accesses my WiFi network now, when it could not before. However, they were relatively inexpensive (< or = $40) on eBay and seem to work. I realize that the Model 4920 is "old" tech, now. (So I believe that most people have to purchase at least two AirTies 4920 extenders.) Satellite extenders are connected wirelessly to your WiFi network. I currently have two (three extenders total). Then you place "satellite" (my expression) extenders around your building as needed. I am no expert, but I believe the correct procedure is to have one ("base" ) extender directly connected to your WiFi router (via an Ethernet cable). Maybe if you get them through AT&T your have to lease them?) (I bought the extenders on eBay, not through AT&T. I use an older, but still powerful, Dell desktop computer with Windows 8.1, iPhone 11 Pro Max with up-to-date IOS, Tesla car, Linksys Music Bridge, and some other stuff that are on my home WiFi network. I have three AirTies 4920 generic (not identified as AT&T or other service provider) 1600 Mbps Smart Mesh Access Point WiFi extenders. I am using AT&T (for cellphone and DSL service) near Sacramento, California.
